Case Study: Easy Peasy Ltd
Awarded 2 contracts, with a combined value of up to £760k and potential for further works through Phase 2 of the UKRI opportunity.
About the client
EasyPeasy provides integrated digital solutions and training to transform early years services for local authorities in the UK, improving the home learning environment, to close the gap in school readiness, and achieve meaningful outcomes for babies and young children.
A key aspect is EasyPeasy mobile app, which brings together practical ideas, advice and inspiration from parents, carers, practitioners and early years experts; and helps families to build positive, playful connections through accessible activities and everyday materials.
The Challenge
In June 2026, EasyPeasy approached TenderHelp as they wanted to complete two significant bids that would run concurrently. Both were strategically important to the company, and they needed additional capacity to manage and write the submissions, while also raising their quality and competitiveness.
The first opportunity was a tender from the Institute of Imagination (iOi), who had secured £2.5m from The National Lottery Community Fund for a five-year Playing for a Fairer Future programme. As part of the programme, they were tendering for a £260k contract to provide a digital tool for parents and carers of children aged 0–5, designed to strengthen caregiver-child relationships, build confidence in play and support measurable improvements development.
The successful provider would also deliver training, implementation support, data collection and evaluation across two UK regions under the contract.
The second tender was considerably more complex - a UKRI Contracts for Innovation competition, that would be delivered through the Innovation Funding Service, with Phase 1 worth up to £500k. The programme sought innovative solutions to increase involvement of fathers and male carers in children’s learning, development and caregiving.
EasyPeasy needed to demonstrate how their solution could address barriers to engagement, strengthen father-child interactions and deliver measurable improvements in children’s development and educational outcomes. Phase 2 would be awarded based on the success of Phase 1.
What We Did
To coordinate the bids, we allocated a senior bid writer to lead both submissions, with support from the wider team. This enabled us to manage the two bids as a single programme of work; share research, evidence and organisational knowledge across the two submissions; and provide EasyPeasy with consistency while maximising value for money.
We developed clear bid plans covering milestones, client input, evidence requirements, reviews and submission deadlines. We reviewed both specifications, assessment criteria and funder requirements, identified evidence gaps and issued Information Required checklists setting out what was needed from EasyPeasy and by what date.
For the more complex UKRI opportunity, we worked closely with EasyPeasy’s Director of External Affairs, Matthew Dodd, and translated the technical and behavioural aspects of their solution into a compelling, evidence-led proposition, that was fully aligned with the assessment criteria.
Every response went through a structured three-stage quality assurance process, starting with a review by another bid writer, followed by a review by our Managing Director, before being shared with EasyPeasy for final review and approval. We incorporated client feedback and, where substantive changes were made, re-reviewed the responses to ensure consistency, accuracy and alignment with the assessment criteria.
To ensure submission on time, we worked to a 24-hour submission buffer, ensuring both bids were completed, quality assured, approved and submitted via the online portals at least one working day before the formal deadlines.
Following successful submission, we provided EasyPeasy with editable copies of the bid responses and all supporting content, creating a reusable library of high-quality material that could be adapted for future tenders and funding applications.
The Results
EasyPeasy was awarded both contracts, with a combined value of up to £760k and potential for further works through Phase 2 of the UKRI opportunity.
TenderHelp’s bid-writing expertise and strategic support enabled EasyPeasy to pursue two complex, high-value opportunities simultaneously, by providing the right level of resource, structure and specialist insight for each submission.
Our rigorous approach ensured that both bids were developed to a consistently high standard, with compelling, evidence-led responses closely aligned with each funder’s requirements and assessment criteria.
