THE BRIEF:
SALTWM is an established team of independent Speech and Language Therapists based in the West Midlands. They specialise in delivering high-quality, holistic assessment and therapy services to children and adults with a range of communication impairments. Their work combines formal and informal assessment approaches to produce comprehensive reports and tailored therapy programmes.
SALTWM approached TenderHelp as they were applying for an autism and ADHD assessment and diagnosis services contract for the NHS. This framework was established to address the significant increase in demand and long waiting lists for these services within the NHS by outsourcing capacity, and the procurement process had been designed to encourage participation from smaller businesses. However, as with many public sector contracts, the tender questions were complex and SALTWM needed specialist support to navigate the intricacies of the process, ensure full compliance and achieve maximum scores.
SALTWM had already developed a draft tender with excellent detail and wanted a specialised review service to finalise their drafts and present their services in the most compelling way to achieve maximum scores.
OUR APPROACH:
TenderHelp offers detailed reviews of client-drafted submissions. For clients with existing drafts, our review service focuses on professionalising content, restructuring answers to fully address complex questions, and adding evidence to secure maximum marks. We use our extensive experience to assess the score we believe existing drafts will obtain, and identify the areas they can be improved - increasing the chance of success!
Our team analysed the scoring methodology and the complex questions posed within the tender. A significant portion of our time was dedicated to restructuring and reordering content to ensure each question was comprehensively and precisely addressed. We also integrated evidence and data throughout the response to maximise the scoring. Our approach focused on transforming SALTWM’s well-researched drafts into a highly professional, fully compliant, and compelling submission.
To ensure the review service provided lasting value, all feedback was clear and concise, with detailed rationale and explanations that SALTWM could apply to future bids. We delivered a through ‘post-submission review’, in which we explained to the SALTWM team why the changes would result in a higher score.

OUTCOME:
The tender was successful and SALTWM were awarded the contract in May 2025. This pivotal win has secured additional revenue for SALTWM, has enabled them to expand their services and contribute to the increased capacity needed to address the high demand for these assessments within the public sector.
We carried out a post-award meeting with the SALTWM team, reviewing the final award decision, scores and feedback, identifying any lessons to be learned and improvements to be incorporated in future bids - ensuring they are successful too!
The outcome highlights TenderHelp's ability in guiding specialised service providers through complex public sector procurement, leading to tangible results and service delivery expansion.
This is an excellent example where our team has worked with client subject matter experts to obtain sector and topic specific knowledge, and translated this into high-quality, successful bid content.
ADDED VALUE PROVIDED:
-
We helped SALTWM realign their draft responses to precisely match scoring criteria to maximise potential for high scores.
-
Our expert review gave SALTWM assurance that their submission met all mandatory requirements and would pass compliance checks.
-
The feedback and rationale provided during the review process helped to build internal capability for future bids.
-
Our collaborative approach ensured that SALTWM felt supported throughout the process, not just as a service provider, but as a trusted partner.
The SALTWM team have indicated that although they were very happy with our review service, they will ask for our help to write the entire bid from scratch next time, saving them a significant amount of time and the stress involved in developing an important bid.
